Example Simple Exercise Regimes

Example Exercise Regimes – Can be done in any order, any time of the day/week and bits of pieces can be swapped around between the different regimes. Form a Regime that you feel comfortable with and depending on your lifestyle.

Regime 1

  1. 5 minutes of stretching (in shower or while/after getting out of bed in the morning)
  2. 5 minutes of balancing exercises (which can be done while stretching or on its own, as I mentioned in Exercise Principles for a Healthy Mind Body and Spirit
  3. 15-30mins of walking (Total for the day) – Walk to work, walk to shops for lunch, walk around park/block before or after work
  4. 5 minutes of Deep breathing exercise during work or before bed. (once per day, minimum)

Regime 2

  1. 30 minutes to 1 hour of Pilates or Yoga (Most of the 5 forms exercises mentioned in Exercise Principles for a Healthy Mind Body and Spirit can be done while doing just yoga or Pilates.
  2. 5 minutes Deep Breathing exercise during your day, or before bed

Regime 3 (Combination of Regime 1 and 2 – More Intense/involved Regime)

  1. 5 minutes of stretching (in shower or while/after getting out of bed in the morning)
  2. 5 minutes of balancing exercises (which can be done while stretching or on its own, as I mentioned in Exercise Principles for a Healthy Mind Body and Spirit
  3. 10-30mins of walking (Total for the day) – Walk to work, walk to shops for lunch, walk around park/block before or after work
  4. 30 minutes to 1 hour of Pilates or Yoga
  5. 5 minutes of Deep breathing exercise during work or before bed.

Regime 4 (Beginners Strength Regime -Build up to a larger number of reps as you get stronger)

  1. 5-10 Full body squats
  2. 5-10 Push-ups
  3. 5-10 Crunches or Sit-ups
  4. 20 jumping jacks
  5. 5-10 minutes of stretching (in shower or while/after getting out of bed in the morning)

These are four examples of exercise regimes you can do. Feel free to mix them up a bit and increase their intensity as you get stronger or feel more comfortable and confident.
